The Fashion Design program aims to produce well-rounded graduates who can cater to the ever-changing and dynamic Fashion industry. The curriculum provides students with essential knowledge and technical skills, focusing on current industry trends and emerging areas. The program covers creative ideation through Fashion Illustration and Design Development both manual and digital, and product development through pattern making, draping and garment construction as core areas. The course also includes theoretical inputs such as the history of fashion, textiles, and contemporary fashion, along with value-addition techniques like embroidery, printing, dyeing, etc. for various industry sectors. A combination of manual, technological, and digital inputs will enable skill development that is necessary to realize designs for different markets and sectors. Students will have the opportunity to interact with artisans to learn about crafts and provide inputs to them on the young generation’s product choices. There will also be opportunities for co-creation of new products and skill development.

Professionals in this field can also work as Fashion Buyers, Costume Designers, Fashion Marketing and PR Specialists, and Fashion Editors or Journalists. Other opportunities include becoming a Pattern Designer, Fashion Entrepreneur, Fashion Educator, or E-Commerce Fashion Specialist. These roles collectively contribute to the dynamic and multifaceted nature of the fashion industry.
